About Haifa Barbara and Baeing Happy

Screen Shot 2019-08-07 at 10.43.19.png

Haifa started her business Baeing Happy 3 years ago, coaching guy's and gal’s with a series of videos, books, events and an online community where people across London, New York and LA learn how to unlock their life happiness, always keeping self esteem high and armed with information to shield from toxic relationships. Haifa’s goal with this talk is to help ladies find relationships and build them to last, because the world is confusing enough. As part of the business there’s matchmaking and building a dating app.

Her background is in behavior, backed by 12 years working at a global health and wellness communications firm specializing in leading their strategy and behavior change team.

Haifa went through her own transformation: “People are really struggling, they live in a world where technology has impacted human connections, in a world where apps have dehumanised and turned meeting into a transaction. This has played a huge part in impacting their mental health and wellbeing.”

While she believes social media and our world is evolving incredibly, the greater we (including the tech companies who created these new worlds) have struggled to guide people on how to navigate it in a healthy way, the depression rate is increasing and self worth decreasing. Someone has to do it and that is why she started the coaching and speaking business.

This is her way to use the experience she has built over 12 years to help the world!

GOLDIE – Sustainable September

Screen Shot 2019-08-22 at 14.41.04.png

HOSTED BY Devonshire Club

The fashion industry is worth £32billion to the British economy – the largest of the creative industries. Fashion has a serious issue with sustainability. Despite countless initiatives to reduce environmental impact, the carbon footprint is due to skyrocket in the next 10 years. Is fast fashion really to blame? It’s hard to argue the numbers: with people trying to keep up with the latest trends there are reportedly over £30billion of clothes languishing in UK wardrobes that haven’t been worn in at least 12 months – almost the value of the entire industry.

Hot off the heels of London Fashion Week, we ask what can be done to change mindsets. Do we as consumers need to put our money where our mouths are and when it comes to making sustainable fashion choices? What about slow fashion, upcycling or vintage?

About Hanna Bier

_N1A0204-1.jpeg

HANNA WORKS WITH AMBITIOUS WOMEN ACROSS THE WORLD TO HELP THEM HEAL DEEPLY AND CREATE THE BEAUTIFUL AND SUCCESSFUL LIVES THEY'VE ALWAYS WANTED!

In her early twenties, she moved to Bali, Indonesia, with the intention of starting a business and living the tropical island dream. She was finally free to create her life the way she wanted it, but looking into the future gave her stomach aches.

Throughout her life she had been struggling with mental illness, her diagnoses ranging from PTSD, to an anxiety disorder, depression and an eating disorder.

SHE KNEW DEEP DOWN THAT SHE WAS CAPABLE OF SO MUCH, BUT SHE WAS EXHAUSTED, SELF-CONSCIOUS AND NEEDED A BREAK TO HEAL.

Screen Shot 2019-07-08 at 11.06.33.png

So she rode her scooter around the island. She sat in cafes overlooking the rice paddies and scribbled business ideas into her notebook. She wore flowers in her hair and swam with all kinds of colourful fish.

The intuitive nudges were getting stronger each day. Even though she was scared, she enrolled in coach training school and started on her path of becoming a healer. Fast forward to today: She now works with the loveliest of clients, she has become happier than she ever even thought possible and she believes more than ever in the power of following our intuitive guidance!

It's been a beautiful, bumpy road and she is infinitely grateful for how perfectly orchestrated it all turned out to be.

Imagine…

Having a clear vision of the life that is right for you..

… and knowing exactly which steps to take that will get you there.

Breaking free from any emotional and family-related blocks that have been weighing you down

… you are feeling energetic and confident in your own skin. Making progress in your life has never been easier!

Dramatically increasing your faith and self-belief..

… you are taking massive, joyful action knowing you deserve to have an extraordinary life!

Earning more money, having a happier love life and having more freedom to be YOU than ever before

… you are bursting with positivity - your life is transforming before your eyes!

Hearts and minds: The science of behaviour change

  • The Royal Institution of Great Britain (map)

i5go5acfry0.jpg

Hosted by The Royal institution

Many problems that our society faces – climate change, poor health, depleted natural resources – require us to change the way we do things. To combat climate change we need to use less fossil fuel. To reduce obesity we need to eat less and move more. To reduce lung cancer we need to stop smoking. The list goes on.

So if we know what to do, why aren’t these problems solved? Behavioural science has found that we don’t always act rationally or in our best interest, and simply being told what we need to be doing doesn’t work. Understanding how people make decisions can help us design interventions that encourage people to change behaviour in beneficial ways. However, there is an important balance to be struck between personal freedom and helping people lead better lives.

Join a panel of experts as they explore this fascinating area at the intersection of psychology, economics and policy.

About the speakers

Susan Michie is Professor of Health Psychology and Director of the Centre for Behaviour Change at UCL. Susan's research focuses on developing the science of behaviour change interventions and applying behavioural science to interventions. She works with a wide range of disciplines, practitioners and policy-makers and holds grants from a large number of organisations including the Wellcome Trust, National Institute of Health Research, Economic and Social Research Council and Cancer Research UK.

Nick Chater has over 200 publications, has won four national awards for psychological research, and has served as Associate Editor for the journals Cognitive Science, Psychological Review, and Psychological Science. He was elected a Fellow of the Cognitive Science Society in 2010 and a Fellow of the British Academy in 2012. Nick is co-founder of the research consultancy Decision Technology; and is on the advisory board of the Cabinet Office's Behavioural Insight Team (BIT), popularly know as the 'Nudge Unit'.

Toby Park leads the energy and sustainability work at BIT (Behavioural Insights Team), covering topics as diverse as domestic energy use, sustainable transport and wider pro-environmental behaviours including recycling, food consumption, air quality and water conservation. The energy and sustainability team also work closely with the productivity and economic growth team, with an interest in promoting sustainable business practice and green growth. Toby also works with our consumers team supporting our housing work.

Toby’s background is originally in engineering, having spent a number of years running environmental impact assessments and acoustic design work for architectural and building services clients. He returned to academia to focus on social and cognitive psychology before joining BIT in 2014. He holds Masters degrees in Engineering (1st class) and Psychology (distinction).

The event will be chaired by Stavroula Kousta, Chief Editor of Nature Human Behaviour

Positive Body Image and Confidence

autumn-goodman-vTL_qy03D1I-unsplash.jpg

HOSTED BY Kobini Ananth Coaching

About Kobini Ananth

After struggling with an eating disorder for almost 20 years, Kobini learnt to see her body for all that it does for her instead of how it purely looks on a superficial level. This was life changing and by changing her beliefs and worldview, her ‘weight problems’ literally disappeared. And this is one of the biggest reasons why she decided to become a Transformational Life Coach.

Kobini is also an Economist and Musician, which she really enjoys. She really believes anyone who wants to pursue multiple interests/careers can do so in a balanced way.

Kobini Ananth Coaching helps people who are struggling to feel completely themselves in their bodies, move to a place where they believe they’re enough and where they start loving themselves and their bodies unconditionally.

Event image.jpg

What to expect:

Come and join her at this event where you will explore how to unconditionally love yourself and your body.

This workshop is for you if:

  •  You’re tired of wishing you looked different

  •  You’re obsessed with how much you have (or haven’t) eaten

  •  Your mood fluctuates depending on the number shown on the scale

  •  You wished you had more confidence

  •  You don’t feel good enough

  •  You’re not feeling completely yourself in your body

At this workshop, you will cover tools that can help you with:

  •  Identifying the limiting beliefs that are making you feel this way

  •  Replacing these with more empowering beliefs that will enable you to feel more alive and yourself in your body

  •  Living with self-compassion and acceptance

  •  Feeling ‘normal’ around food

  •  Creating your best life that is free from body obsession

There will be a safe space here, where together, you will learn to love yourself and your body dangerously, despite our surrounding images and messages telling us otherwise. And trust us, when you get there, your whole world will start to shift and you’ll become unstoppable!

Speaker Express presents a Female Speakers Evening: Getting on more stages in 2019

'Behind every successful woman is a tribe of other successful women, who have her back.'

Let's bring you all together in July BEFORE the BIG Female Speakers Conference & Awards on the 11th October 2019.

We have started the Female Speakers Conference & Awards to create a platform that empowers female speakers stepping on more stages and getting paid for it. This evening is a step towards that.

This evening will be about inspiration, community and women supporting women. It will also present you some of the most powerful techniques in order to control nerves to come across as confident in front of any audience but also about finding more speaking opportunies. In addition, we will feature a number of different women with their stories and tools they use to push ahead and stand out.

A New Moon Tea Ceremony

The aroma, the taste, the colour and the aftertaste of tea are all representative of the balance of your mind, spirit and lives.

In the process of serving tea Gazelli Skincare create a relationship between the tea host and guests. And this creates such a deep bonding experience! Sometimes it is done in silence, and sometimes the knowledge about tea, stories and laughter are exchanged, but the result is always of that strong special bond between people drinking tea.

With each cup of tea we share love, compassion, peace, gratitude, harmony. As a result, tea events, and especially tea ceremonies, almost always bring a feeling of balance and contentment back into our lives. As well as a feeling of companionship with the people we share our tea with.

Tune into the precious ceremony of tea with the lovely Lera from @withtlovers as she guides you through the importance of awareness and presence with all your being during this special, gentle event that calls you to pause and reconnect.

How plants recognise the seasons

RI plants.jpg

Hosted by The Royal institution

Who doesn’t love the spring bloom? Winter is over and temperatures are increasing. But did you know that many plants won’t flower until they have been exposed to the prolonged cold of winter? Caroline Dean will explore how plants monitor seasons and how their molecular memory systems, similar to those in our own bodies, help plants sense fluctuating winter temperatures and judge when winter is over.

What to expect?

The doors will open at approximately 6.30pm, with a prompt start at 7.00pm. There will be time for questions after the talk.

Latecomers will be admitted to the gallery.
