HOSTED BY ALLBRIGHT

In line with this year’s Body Image theme for Mental Health Awareness Week, join clinical psychologist, neuroscientist and mindfulness innovator, Dr Tamara Russell, for a thought-provoking exploration of the masks we wear and the gaps between what we perceive, what we really feel and experience, and how we present ourselves to the world.

Using creative multi-media combined with cutting–edge neuroscience, find out how your brain and mind have been shaped by personal, professional and cultural experiences and how this creates our realities and perceptions around body and image. Explore the gaps between the internal and external realities as we navigate our working lives and consider what is necessary to change some of the more unhelpful inner/outer narratives around women, gender and really being ‘seen’.

Through a mixture of performance, facilitated discussion, brain ‘bytes’ and mindfulness practices find out what can be done to start reshaping our brains and develop more positive narratives around body image. Actress, writer and Coach Andreea Paduraru will be present to share her intentions and experiences of her piece #seeme from the work in progress Sensorium.

Tamara’s book #whatismindfulness outlines the neurocognitive model and shows that mindfulness can be anything that taps into these three brain networks. Mindfulness in Motion is her guide on how to incorporate mindfulness training into any movement.
