We run on the principle that no-one should eat alone, whether you’re looking to meet new people or simply to sharpen your knife skills in good company, our doors are open. All you need is a healthy contempt for a microwave meal-for-one. ”
They run a monthly supper club at King's Cross's Calthorpe Project, which is all about convivial cooking and new company in the heart of London. Their doors are open to anyone with any level of culinary ability, supping solo or joining with friends. Diners are greeted with a hearty drink and are then challenged to join forces and prepare a set seasonal menu with guidance from Ruth and Tessa, the Eat Club team. The evening ends around one table with three courses of sharing plates and BYOB. An added bonus, is that any profit from these sessions goes toward supporting the Eat Club social enterprise in providing free cooking courses to lesser-privileged young people in London.
For this experience, Solo Supper Club guest chef, Regina Lopez, is bringing a fresh Mexican menu to the heart of London for one special evening. Influenced by the culinary history of her native Veracruz, the dishes will turn you on to the flavours of Mexico and key techniques. Think ceviche, and jar dropping guacamole. During the course of the evening you’ll be introduced to the food heritage of Veracruz and a lively menu which you’ll prepare with the aid of the Solo Supper Club team and fellow diners. You’ll then sit down to enjoy the fruits of your labour with new friends.
