Make Google Happy – SEO for Beginners will take you through the basics of meeting the standard requirements to help search engines index and rank your website.

This interactive workshop will outline the core areas of SEO, as well as the 10 key pointers for SEO as used in industry-standard audits. It will also detail the newer developments in search engine algorithms such as secure websites and mobile-first content to ensure your site ticks all the right boxes from the word go.

SEO is not a dark art – it takes time to build up, optimise and establish your site as an authority within your industry. With this beginners’ course, we will take you through the best practices and the tips and tricks you can use to be recognised regionally, as well as the free tools you can use to help put your website on the map.

Katie Thompson is a freelance digital marketer and trained journalist, having worked with brands including the BBC, Yahoo!, The Huffington Post and several Fortune 500 companies. Katie is passionate about helping small businesses and freelancers make the most of the digital resources available to them for little to no spend.

With a professional background writing for magazines before moving into digital content creation, Katie has trained with the National Council for the Training of Journalists and has many years’ experience working with digital marketing agencies.
